Who am I?

Hi, I am Eric, first of all thank you for checking out my website. I am so grateful for your considering me to capture your memories! It is truly my pleasure to commemorate milestones in life for others I cannot wait to meet you!

I am a 23 year old living in the Quad cities. I was born in Michigan and moved around a bit as a kid and when I was 7 my family settled in Bettendorf. For the next 11 years of my life I lived here going through the Pleasant Valley school district. After highschool I pursued a degree in marketing at the University of Iowa, along with school I participated in numerous clubs and other on campus activities including ultimate frisbee witch I competed in at the d1 collegiate level for two years. In the spring of 2023 I graduated from college and moved back home. You may be wondering where photography fits into all of this.

Photography has been a through-line in my life. Ever since I was a kid I claimed to my mom to take “god like” photos. I think at the time I didn’t really know what I meant by that. And although I don’t claim this anymore I do know what I meant by it. The thing I fell in love with back then was emotion. capturing it in a way that when you look back at the photos you can feel how you felt, what you were doing, and who you were. I think great photography isn’t about color, or composition it is about feeling. What it makes you feel or in this case what it makes you remember. That is what I am passionate about.

I started taking photos in early highschool when I got my first digital camera for Christmas. Me and my dad got a matching set so we could go out and take photos together as a sort of bonding activity. The very next week we took a trip to Michigan and went out to a state park where I got the first photo that ever made me feel real emotion, I call it the forest wizard. This is where it all started for me. And I haven’t stopped since
